Funfetti Candle

To make a funfetti birthday cake candle, you will need:

  • Mason jar
  • Wax
  • Cotton wick
  • Wick tabs
  • Pink color dye
  • Multi colored sprinkles

To make 2 candles that are 12 ounces each, you will need 1.2 pounds of wax.
Heat the wax in your double boiler, or heat the wax in a bowl placed in your pan
filled with water (an easy to way to make your own double boilier), watching the
temperature on the thermometer as you stir. Add in just a bit of the pink dye –you want the candle to be a very light pink color, and the dye is going to darken it
quickly.

Continue to stir occasionally until your wax reaches 175 degrees F.
Once the wax has reached the proper temperature, take your ladle and spoon a
single spoonful of the hot wax into your jars. Twist the jars so the wax coats the
edges, then sprinkle a generous amount of sprinkles into the jars.

Twist once again until the sprinkles coat the edge of the jar, and allow to sit for a
few minutes to harden.

Remember to keep an eye on and stir your melted wax occasionally during this
time – if the wax becomes too hot it could burn, which would require you to dis-
card the wax and start once more from the beginning.

As this is setting up, secure your cotton wick to the wick tab, then place this is in
the center of your jar. Many wick tabs come with stickers built in, but it yours
does not, glue works fine.

Pour the rest of the wax into the jar now, carefully so you don’t disrupt the sprin-
kles that have been pressed and hardened against the side of the jar. Allow to set
up overnight, and your funfetti party candles are ready!
